We liked – The ability to place the microwave close to our work area made it easy to get our dishes in and out without any hassle and the Easy Touch Automatic Drawer can conveniently be opened or closed with a gentle pull or soft touch of a button which is great when your hands are full.

We didn’t like – There isn’t much we didn’t like, but we did miss the lack of an option for convection cooking.

The bottom line – If you’re remodeling your kitchen and in the market for a new microwave, have the space in your kitchen and your budget, the Sharp Microwave Drawer is an excellent choice.

If you spend a lot of time in the kitchen like we do and you find yourself consistently looking for appliances that enhance the convenience of your kitchen, work well and look great then you should absolutely consider a Microwave Drawer.

Sharp Microwave Drawer

If you’ve done your research you’ve found that you have many choices in brands when selecting a microwave drawer. What you may or may not have also found out is that Sharp manufactures all the microwave drawers—they are all re-branded and have been restyled for each individual appliance company. The Sharp models have a slightly higher watts rating at 1000 as compared to 950 watts for the other entries. They all perform similarly and non are really better than any of the others. A few of the brands have longer warranties but given that they are twice the cost the extra warranty coverage comes at a steep cost.

In our case we installed the Sharp Stainless Steel Microwave Drawer Oven and we’re very happy with how the microwave drawer both performs and looks. Getting dishes in and out of the microwave drawer was easy, you’re simply lifting items up and out, eliminating the need to reach in and carefully try to pull hot dishes out while being hunched over. The drawer also carefully opens and softly closes which helps reduce the possibility of spills but it also made us feel like we were often waiting on the drawer to access the microwave. Even thought in reality it’s only a few seconds sometimes it feels much longer when you’re fighting against the proverbial clock.

The hidden control panel was very responsive and being able to close it or essentially put it away reduces some of the visual noise in your kitchen. I know what you’re thinking. Yes, you can lock the control panel to prevent your kids or the neighbor kids for that matter, from playing with it.
