We liked – The video quality is very good both during the day and at night with the cameras night vision. The cameras build quality is also very good, there are no monthly fees and Wifi Baby’s customer services was easily one of the best customer services experiences we’ve had period. Which is a good thing because you’re probably going to need it.

We didn’t like – Dated iOS app was not intuitive, the Android app was less dated but no less complicated. The accompanying desktop app was even more dated, and not at all intuitive. The setup process is more complicated then it should be, especially at this price point.

The bottom line – Wifi Baby Monitor is a very nice baby monitor with excellent video quality, best in class features, and outstanding customer service, but dated apps and infrequent app updates keeps Wifi Baby from really shining.

Every parent wants to keep an eye on baby and Wifi Baby lets you do that with devices you already have, like your TV, computer, phone, tablet and yes, even your AppleWatch. We thought the iOS app even had an incredibly cleaver feature letting you use other apps while at the same time being able to listen and hear your baby through the monitor. With an 8x zoom, superb night vision and great audio quality you’ll see and hear all the important things.

iPhone - Wifi Baby

What you won’t need to concern yourself with is any additional fees as Wifi Baby avoids the cloud and gives you secure access via password-protected wifi. Of course you’ll still be able to save those special moments using a MicroSD card. However, we did find it a bit cumbersome to access the MicroSD card after we mounted the Wifi Baby camera to the wall, but it wasn’t a deal breaker considering we wouldn’t be paying any additional monthly fee to store those precious moments in the cloud. Diapers are expensive enough and we were happy to keep that extra money in our pockets or at least in our baby’s pockets.

Although we were disappointed with the mobile and desktop apps that complement Baby Wifi and even lamented the lack of frequent app updates that sometimes caused compatibility issues with our iOS devices, we still think Wifi Baby is worth considering. It’s excellent video and sound quality and the ability to view from anywhere—even away from home will make it a good choice for many families.
